Marine spatial planning

WP 4 (work package no. 4)

The responsible partner is the Finnish Natural heritage Service (Metsähallitus).

Strategic focus

Development of a broad area management template with zoning of large marine areas.

Planned results

A management template with guidelines on a) planning and managing of marine areas, b) assessment of management efficiency, and c) stakeholder involvement and participation in spatial planning of marine areas.
A final report of an ecosystem-based approach to management of marine areas in the Baltic Sea based on spatial planning - this will include guidelines on zoning plans, management planning, success assessment and stakeholder involvement.
